The Eagle Quilt

This custom-made quilt was a collaborative
project. Sylvia drew up the design, and she constructed the very realistic
life-size eagle.
Kristin created the background landscape,
and did the quilting and the 3-D embroidery embellishment.
The quilt fabrics are primarily hand-dyes
from Wilde Fish Fabrics, and the eagle is sewn from countless individually
cut pieces of Ultrasuede®, with satin, knits, and leather used for
details of the head and talons. |
